Grey cloth with black and red ink lettering and decorations. Square and firmly bound with a red top stain toned at the front endpaper and a stain on the verso of the rear endpaper, clean otherwise. The chronological predecessor to Sartoris, a novel set in Faulkner's Yoknapatawpha County. Originally published as short stories in various magazines in the 1930s. As could be said about many of Faulkner's novels, The Unvanquished is the story of Southern characters who "survive the war by many years, but never escape its influence." Very Good / Very Good.
