Boston: Fields, Osgood, & Co., 1870. First Edition. Hardcover. Two volumes, the first and second issues of the first printing. The first issue is about Near Fine, the second Very Good. Green publisher's binding, some rubbing at the edges and corners, with gilt lettering on the spine and blind tooling on the boards. The first issue is square and firmly bound, the second issue with some reading wear to the binding. Both volumes have the bookplate of Henry C. Taylor inside the front board, clean otherwise. Both volumes come housed in a quarter-leather slipcase with five raised bands and gilt tooling on the spine. Very Good. Item #5229
