Beige cloth with red and green ink lettering and design on the spine edge. Square and firmly bound with a green top stain, former owner's signature on the half-title page, clean otherwise. Algren's best-known work, the winner of the 1950 National Book Award and adapted into the 1955 film starring Frank Sinatra and Kim Novak. A sadly fitting book for the current day given its insight into opioid addiction. Near Fine / Good. Item #12929
